Rayburn chassis ProPower engines, Chevrolet Monte Carlo had
never laid eyes on the GVS track, but commented on the
instant familiarity of the 4/10 mile sweeping clay oval. |

piloted the Barry Wright 30th Anniversary machine to his
second OSAS win of the year and in turn became the first
repeat winner with the Alabama based touring series this
year. Franklin bested Benji Cole, Casey Roberts, Doug
English and Johnny Collins at the track billed as "The
Oldest Dirt Track in Georgia" and "The Fastest

Event number five on the OSAS Silver Anniversary Tour will
see North Georgia Speedway playing host to their first of
three scheduled OSAS events in 2007 this Saturday night,
April 7th. The fifty lap ‘Easter Weekend 50' at the
Harris-Sutton Chevrolet promoted oval will pay $5000 to the
winner. |

Survives Shamrock Slugfest for First Win of the Season

there were seven lead changes among three drivers but the
lead certainly changed many more times. However two time and
defending O'Reilly Southern All Star Champion Chris Madden
held the lead on the lap that paid. After a wild battle with
four-time Series Champion Clint Smith through the race's
middle stages, Madden was able to fend off all challenges
and score his first win of this young season. |

Add Another East Tennessee Date

—The O'Reilly Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series
will add another east Tennessee date to the 2007
series schedule with a return to the track formerly
known as Smoky Mountain Raceway. The O'Reilly
Southern All Stars will stop at The Mountain Raceway
& Fairgrounds on Friday night August 24th for a
$5,000 to win 50 lap event.

Speedway. Smith mired up his hauler in the middle of
the new pit area and was unable to unload his car to
get in some practice on the newly reconfigured
3/8ths mile track surface. Sunday proved to be a new

Announce 2007 Schedule and Race Format Revisions

Officials of the O'Reilly Southern All Star Racing
Series announced today the release of their
working 2007 schedule. The current schedule lists
a total of twenty-eight dates throughout the
southeastern United States . Additional dates are
still pending on the planned thirty-five event
schedule in what will mark the Alabama based
touring series twenty-fifth season of dirt late
model racing. |

Don Hester to be Inducted
into Southern All Star Hall of Fame

| Huntsville, AL --
Soon the newly established Southern All Stars Hall
of Fame will induct its third member. Don Hester
of Tupelo , MS was the Alabama based touring
series' inaugural champion in 1984. Hester, in his
familiar red and white #327, picked up two wins
that season. His first win came at his home track,
Spencer Speedway, in Tupelo , MS. Hester also won
at Glencoe , AL 's Green Valley Speedway. Hester
bested the likes of Alabama legends Gene Chupp and
Red Farmer to claim his only title. |
