Southern All Stars East Announces Competitor Disqualification
and Penalties |

Officials of the O'Reilly Southern
All Stars East Racing Series today announced penalties to a driver
after a post race inspection during the 28th Annual Laurens County
Shrine Race at Laurens County Speedway Laurens, South Carolina.
The inspection revealed questionable abnormalities on Dennis
Franklin's right rear tire. O'Reilly Southern All Stars East rules
only allow for six different compounds of Hoosier Race Tires.

Madden Notches Cherokee O'Reilly Southern All Stars East Win |
| Gaffney , SC – Chris
Madden finally picked up his first 2008 season victory on Saturday
night. Madden, who started fourth on the grid, inherited the race
lead from Dennis "Rambo" Franklin near the halfway point
of the forty-lap / $4000 to win O'Reilly Auto Parts Memorial Day
Weekend Special at the Cherokee Speedway. Madden held on handily
over the final eighteen circuits to notch the win. "I hated
to see Rambo fall out there because I believe we were about to put
on a show. My car seemed to get better on the longer runs. He
started to pull away a little bit but then we started reeling him
back in." |

Owens
Makes it Two in a Row at Cherokee’s March Madness VI |
| Gaffney , SC – Jimmy
Owens made nabbed his second consecutive Cherokee Speedway $10,000
to win event on Sunday evening. The Newport , Tennessee drive
inherited the lead when race-long leader Randy Weaver suffered a
broken rear end which caused him to retire from the O’Reilly
Southern All Stars East sanctioned event. Owens went on to the
$10,000 payday after turning back the late challenges of local
favorite Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney. |
